A Density Meter Can Be Used in Many Great Ways

Density meters are used throughout various industries to measure the mass or thickness of materials in the form of liquids, gaseous and solid elements. Generally the information is used in analysis and scientific research. A density meter calculates the mass per unit volume by taking into account the physical conditions and other factors of the substance being measured. Both of these features play a part in the density meter readings. Standard methods calculate the mass and volume for density for solid substances compressed. Differences occur when measuring the density of solids or liquids since these materials can shift within the same occupied space altering its density. Temperatures may also affect density meter reading, most meters have the ability to adjust the characteristics according to the conditions and substances being measured.

Today, density meters are available in hand held meters for use in factory and field locations performing examinations. There are also individual density meters, which are part of a company’s testing equipment. Technology has allowed these density meters to function precisely with digital readings using the latest laboratory techniques. When selecting density meters environments, materials and equipment applications should be considered to ensure that production capacity and product quality are maintained. Temperatures are another consideration, precautions with low flash point substances need to be monitored. Overall, the density meters reduce human error, which shrinks costs for the company and eliminates the need to immobilize production.

The need for density meters has expanded in the fuel and manufacturing industries, because of its capability to calculate and regulate amounts of liquid continuously. These industries may rely on the in tank and flow versions of meters to manage and control liquids. Portal meters which are submersed at a specific level can record spot density and real time temperatures. In some instances using a density meter can help to reduce costs of test sampling without interference to the level of product quality, particularly for the petrochemical and fuel industries. Training and proper use of the meters is also critical, especially when phase testing or inspections are being replaced with the use of density meters.

The Importance of Density Meters and Energy Monitoring Systems

Portable diagnosis systems are an amazing unit to keep you informed and aware of your battery systems.  Many large companies have Emergency generators and emergency battery rooms in their facility.  Some of the groups may be: Energy Power Station, Power Plants, Banks and Hospitals, to name a few.  It is very important for these groups to maintain power even in times off outages and emergency situations, which is why items such as density meters and energy monitoring systems are important.

Density meters and energy monitoring systems can keep your back up energy systems in check when they are not in use, in a safe and quick manner.  Speedy processing is important to keep your facility heading on the right path as well as for the care of your workers.  Testing all of the batteries in the Battery room, where all of your backups are, can be dangerous, so the less hands on that a person has to be with the batteries the better.

IBEX units are some of the most proficient and quick meters on the market.  With a roughly three second turn around time for testing the IBEX is at the top of the market in speed of processing information.  Not only is it fast, but it is also very lightweight but durable.

Testing batteries is not the safest job, but with the proper supplies and equipment it can be done proficiently with less of a risk than in previous years.

Why Eagle Eye Digital Hydrometers?

When it comes to battery testing equipment, simplicity and effectiveness are essential. The digital hydrometers we sell are very accurate and easy to use. We take pride in the fact that our hydrometers are ten times more accurate than traditional methods that are more time-consuming and prone to error. In fact, some digital hydrometers at Eagle Eye Power Solutions, like the SG1000, are 99.998% accurate.
When it comes to something as important as your power source, even the smallest degree of accuracy could affect how you proceed in maintaining your batteries. An inaccurate number could lead you to have false security, which could be detrimental down the road. Our digital hydrometers will ensure that you know what's going on with your batteries, so there are no surprises. In addition, their user-centric functionality and design make these measuring tools perfect for anyone looking for quick and effective battery testing.

Our digital hydrometers are designed to provide a reading within a few seconds. They are very compact and easy to measure with one hand. Additionally, all Eagle Eye hydrometers can transfer measurements to a personal computer through USB port or Bluetooth. Depending on the model purchased, over 1,200 different measurements can be kept in the hydrometer's memory.  Check out our inventory today to find the perfect digital hydrometer for your place of business.

Car Batteries Could Fix a Flaw in the Energy Market

How would you like to have a car battery for your business? Unless your business is involved in delivery or taxi services, you may question why you would need one. Coda Holdings is challenging this notion. According to a New York Times article in late January, Coda Holdings is planning to sell its electric car batteries to businesses in the hope of taking advantage of a flaw in the energy market. If they succeed, it could mean bigger savings for businesses and less carbon emissions for the planet.

There are many ways that batteries and battery monitoring systems can help businesses stay in power when something goes wrong. Many businesses and data centers employ uninterruptible power systems to avoid a blackout, and these systems are dependent on batteries that are carefully monitored to avoid a catastrophe. Coda is hoping to take this idea and extend it to solar and wind power.

One of the biggest problems with solar and wind power sources is unreliability. If there is no wind or sun, there is no power. Oftentimes, during a lag period, batteries are used. However, power companies also use spinning reserves – plants that are continually idle to go off at a moment's notice – to protect against the variable nature of the energy source. This process releases a large amount of carbon monoxide emissions into the air.

If all goes well, batteries could replace the spinning reserves and help protect the environment and save businesses money.

Using a Digital Hydrometer is Easy

Measuring density value can be done accurately with a digital hydrometer, as results are displayed in a matter of seconds. This device displays an accuracy rate of 99.998 percent, and you are assured that what you are getting is the actual density or gravity value of the object you want to measure. The process of using this device is fast compared to using other gadgets, or even the conventional method of calculations. It can also measure both temperature and gravity at the same time, and accurate results are displayed 10 times faster than the usual methods.

Using a digital hydrometer will allow you to do work more effectively. This is because the device is CE compliant, and is rugged and durable. SG 1000 digital hydrometers are designed to make work easier. They are also made especially for those who would like to finish work at a faster pace while doing it safely. Since this device will let you measure temperature and gravity value at the same time, you will complete a task in a shorter time frame compared to when you are calculating manually or using another kind of device.

Every SG 1000 digital hydrometer comes with a one-year warranty after purchase. This will also guarantee customers' safer use and lower cost of maintenance, as you can send the product to the manufacturer for repair. SG 1000 digital hydrometers are easy to use and can be operated right out of the box.

Stay Ahead of Winter with Density Meters

If the end of October is any indication, it could be an interesting winter for the Northeast. Halloween is the time of year when kids, dressed as witches, vampires, and other new identities, go door-to-door and ask for sugary treats. Pumpkins populate most porches, and couples scan their television guides to find the scariest movies to share into the night. It is the time of the year right before the chaos of the holiday season and the interesting weather that accompanies it. However, during this Halloween in the Northeast, the day took on a completely new identity.

A surprise snowstorm hit the Northeast and caused trouble throughout the region. The effects of the snowstorm are still being felt by some into the second week of November. The snowstorm hit the Northeast on October 29th dumping up to a foot of snow in some areas. The heavy snow caused terrible road conditions, and combined with the strong winds, downed many power lines and trees. More than a million people and businesses lost power during the storm. Tens of thousands of people and businesses are still without power ten days later. Disregarding the inconveniences involved with losing power for such a long period, the economic ramifications will not be known for a long time. It will most likely be millions in sales and man-hours lost.

This news is more evidence of the importance of having a reliable power system. You should take every precaution to make sure your power source is at full capacity and maintained. Battery monitoring systems, density meters, and battery testing equipment are all good investments if you want to feel comfortable the next time you check out your forecast. Winter is coming – maybe sooner than some of us want. Be prepared with the right equipment.
