Stay Ahead of Winter with Density Meters

If the end of October is any indication, it could be an interesting winter for the Northeast. Halloween is the time of year when kids, dressed as witches, vampires, and other new identities, go door-to-door and ask for sugary treats. Pumpkins populate most porches, and couples scan their television guides to find the scariest movies to share into the night. It is the time of the year right before the chaos of the holiday season and the interesting weather that accompanies it. However, during this Halloween in the Northeast, the day took on a completely new identity.

A surprise snowstorm hit the Northeast and caused trouble throughout the region. The effects of the snowstorm are still being felt by some into the second week of November. The snowstorm hit the Northeast on October 29th dumping up to a foot of snow in some areas. The heavy snow caused terrible road conditions, and combined with the strong winds, downed many power lines and trees. More than a million people and businesses lost power during the storm. Tens of thousands of people and businesses are still without power ten days later. Disregarding the inconveniences involved with losing power for such a long period, the economic ramifications will not be known for a long time. It will most likely be millions in sales and man-hours lost.

This news is more evidence of the importance of having a reliable power system. You should take every precaution to make sure your power source is at full capacity and maintained. Battery monitoring systems, density meters, and battery testing equipment are all good investments if you want to feel comfortable the next time you check out your forecast. Winter is coming – maybe sooner than some of us want. Be prepared with the right equipment.

Battery Monitoring Systems Keeps Your Power Grid Up to Date

In today's world, information and media is attainable so easily. Scouring through the library is no longer as necessary to conduct research. You can do most of that online on electronic databases and through Google Books or other free periodical and book solutions. While you're on your phone, you can access documents from your Dropbox account as you're watching an episode of Dr. Who on Netflix. If you have an internet connection through your pc or your mobile device, you should never have a problem accessing information.

Because of this ease of access through technology whether it is for research, entertainment, or anything else, there is no excuse to not be caught up on information pertinent to your system. Just because you're not in your office, you should know if something is wrong with your power grid. A delay in action could result in time and money lost. If you want battery monitoring systems that will keep you up to date on information and alerts related to your power source, consider a BMS/i-com battery monitoring system.

With a BMS/i-com, you don't have to worry about not being in the loop. You will be able to monitor your system in real-time 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If there is ever a problem with your system or an outage of any kind, you will be the first to know. A SMS will be sent to the administrator of the system so that they know what exactly is going on and when. We are an information rich society that has the advantage of accessing it anywhere on a few different devices. If you don't know what is going on with your power grid from the status of your battery to immediate real-time events that need to be addressed right away, you don't have the right battery monitoring system in place.

Protect Your Heart With Lycopene; Protect Your Battery With Battery Monitoring.

If there was something wrong with your heart, you would want to know it right away, right? The heart does give small indications that it’s in trouble like chest pains or shortness of breath, but by then it could already be too late. If you knew in advance that there was a slight problem, which could lead to a much greater problem down the road, you would most likely do something to fix it. That’s why we have blood tests, EKGs, and regular check-ups. The heart is the life force of your body. In an electrical system, the battery is the energy source. Shouldn’t you take precaution to protect that just like you would your heart?
A battery can wear over time, and like your heart, needs maintenance and monitoring. Battery monitoring is crucial to the overall performance of a battery because it will let you know when something is amiss. Then you can perform the various measures to fix or replace the battery to ensure that your electrical system does not fail you. Your battery monitoring systems should be available to monitor your batteries 24/7, as problems don’t take off for nights, weekends, and holidays. Luckily, we here at Eagle Eye Power Solutions have you covered.
We offer several battery monitoring systems from our IBwatch-series including the Telecom-BMS/I-COM and Utility/UPS-IPQM that are fit to making sure your batteries stay in top shape. These products operate 24 hours a day and can be accessed by a remote computer, so you’ll know the second something is wrong.  Like the heart, prevention and maintenance is the best way to not incurring major problems down the road. Protect your batteries today with battery monitoring.

The Importance of a Density Meter

Density meters measure the density of a substance.  Naturally, familiarity with the word "density" is important before using a device such as this.  So, to get started, density is defined as mass per unit volume. Substances’ densities vary greatly depending on the physical conditions of an object.  Knowing the density of a substance is crucial for calculations and scientific research.

For those who don't know what a density meter is, which might be most people, it consists of a hollow glass tube, which holds the substance that is being measured.  The tube is configured to oscillate at a particular frequency, and when a test substance is put in it, the increase in the tube's mass causes the oscillation frequency to change.  This determines the relative density of the substance.  By combining this unique device with your required system of measurement, you will get an accurate reading.  The differences among various density meters relies on their accuracy of measurement, as some can give you multiple readings.  Some types of density meters may also only work on solid objects, while others work better with liquid or gaseous objects.  It’s all about finding the one that suits your measuring needs the best.

If you are in need of a density meter or a digital hydrometer, check into all of your options today.  Being 99.9% accurate, easy-to-use, and wireless compatible, should be enough to make you want to invest in one of these devices.  Reading density measurements will no longer be a difficult task, as you will now have the clearest and most precise measurements.
